YRUU Camping Trip

It was our daughter’s RE class when she was just 5 years old that got us coming regularly to the UU church. She wanted to go, and so we made attendance at church a priority on Sunday morning. I’m glad we did, because RE has been very valuable in providing information (OWL), opportunities (social justice), and a larger — not just peer — community (Coming of Age, Spirit Play for Adults and teaching the preschool) for our daughters, who are now in their teens.
I knew my daughter was in a good place when I heard another youth describe YRUU as a place where “you can just be yourself.” When I asked my daughter if she felt the same, she said, “well, of course!”
